Six months ago, I started my newsletter as an experiment.
“Let’s see if I stick to it,” I said to my coach.
It has been a rewarding experiment, to say the least. Writing online and being committed to publishing weekly (though admittedly, I missed a few weeks), helped me clarify my thinking. I’ve published about 16 pieces of long-form articles which takes me around 4-6 hours of work each week.
Thankfully, it’s getting easier with practice. It’s a lesson in commitment, discipline, and focus.
Though I was putting in so much work, it still felt casual enough that when I didn’t find inspiration, I simply skipped an issue. This rebranding and moving to Substack is my attempt to take my writing more seriously. Not seriously from a perfectionism perspective, but from my practice perspective. To push myself to explore my curiosity and have my writing be more than a nice thought.
A quote I heard around the internet feels too real— “Articulation articulates.” This is the new way articulation is happening for me.
How will this be different? Not much. It will still be about leadership, non-linear thinking, and career growth. You know, the light stuff (not really, the deep mindset stuff is where I get the kicks). The only difference is that you’ll be able to read all of my past articles (and future ones) on the substack website or the app.
So if you’re ever waiting in line at Safeway or your dinner needs some cooking time, open the app and check out my articles (or the publications I recommend). Note: Though Substack has paid publications, I have no plans of charging for this. You can read for free.
The title is inspired by the teachings from my beloved Guru—
“Reality is non-linear, our mind makes it linear.”
I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing. And if you’ve been following my work for some time, your attention and belief in me means the world to me. I’m excited to share this next step in my writing journey with you.
The first post from this platform will go out this Sunday.
Best,
Mounica
